The US Preventive Services Task Force recently released recommendations stating that women should begin getting mammograms at the age of 50.  The American Cancer Society disagrees with these recommendations and still recommends that women begin getting mammograms at the age of 40. Interesting facts:

  • Breast cancer is the most common cancer in African American and Hispanic women.
  • 40,170 women are expected to die from breast cancer this year
