Users of USB flash drives may find this particular gadget useful. Its predecessor is the Flash Padlock. I believe that the Corsair’s Flash Padlock has a retail value of $50-60, but I have found some contradictory pricing online so I’m not entirely sure what the pricing is.
The device weighs .2 lbs and comes with a storage capacity of 8GB. It can be used on Windows, Mac and Linux PCs. No software installation is required. In order to take full advantage of the safety features available, the pin number must be set via the keypad on the device. The 256-bit encryption ensures the safety of your data.
The security features are unique in that a pin is required to unlock the data. The data can only be recovered by using the computer that houses the code on the flash disk. Upon multiple failed attempts to log in, the data on the device is destroyed and a new password can be generated. There is also a master pin that can be set by a system administrator should the user be interested in this additional feature.
