Stacey English is missing

Stacey English went missing December 26^{, 2011} from her condo in Atlanta, Georgia.  She disappeared shortly after an argument with Robert Kirk, a male companion.  The 36-year-old Sun Trust Bank employee left behind her cellphone and other important items.

Her car was discovered this Thursday near the Aaron’s Amphitheatre at Lakewood; the car was still running.  Kirk was staying with English from Dec. 24 to Dec. 26.  On the night of her disappearance, she kicked him out of her condo that night after an argument.

Kirk has told police that her behavior that night was out of character.  She had been quoting biblical scriptures and had asked Kirk if he was Satan.  English told another friend, Michelle Strothers, that she feared she was in danger.

But there’s a twist …

Her mother, Cindy Jamison, said that she spoke to English the night before she disappeared and did not see any of this erratic behavior during their conversation.  Anthony English, her father, said he spoke with English around noon on the day she went missing and said her behavior was normal.  She also questions the accounts of the two friends who provided this information to the authorities.

English was on prescription medication, which she had been taking for a while.  Two years ago, English attempted to commit suicide by overdose.

The police have:

• Bank activity
• Hotel records (from where Kirk said he stayed after being kicked out by English)
• Surveillance (from the building she resided in)

Tentative Timeline

December 24: Estimated time that Kirk arrives in Atlanta, stays at condo with English

December 25: Last time mother and stepfather spoke to English

December 26: English spoke to her father that day at noon

            Argument occurred with Kirk (between 10-10:30pm)

December 27: Volvo discovered, English officially reported missing

January 5: abandoned Volvo tied to English

January 9: Police expect to clear Robert Kirk soon, according to his attorney

January 17: Police announce that Robert Kirk is cleared

January 23: Her body is discovered by several men search for scrap metal

January 25: Fulton County Medical Examiner confirms that body discovered belongs to Stacey English

My thoughts

Her mental state has been put front and center throughout the various media outlets.  She had been on medication and had attempted to commit suicide in 2008.  None of her friends seem to have seen any of this red flag behavior being reported.  Her mother’s response to the accounts of her daughter’s erratic behavior is interesting in that the mother seems to have formed an opinion of the two friends, or at least one of them.

I don’t know that I buy that she had a random episode out of nowhere …

I’m wondering if she was drugged or had a bad reaction to the medication.

What will I be watching for?

What are the co-workers saying about her behavior leading up to her disappearance?

Will the mother say anything more about her friends?  What will she say?

Why did she feel that she was in danger?

When did Kirk leave town?

Why were Kirk and English fighting?

How soon after the argument did Kirk try to contact English again?
